Description
Résumé:In this research, the quality of relationship between belivers and belieded being (God) and believers’ perseption and definition of believed being were studied. Relying on the answers obtained from the participants, we tried to determine the extent to which the believers’potenciáis reason and consciousness are involved in this relationship. 178 students from the Faculty of Divinity in Ankara University participated in our study in which the qualitative methods were used. The students were expected to write their answers to the questin of ‘explain /describe your God who you are believed in. Some of them also interviewed on the issue. We chose a sub-sample and made a descriptive analysis of the data. We determined four themes to indicte the types of relationship between the individuals obtaining a religious education and their creater:(l)fear centered God perception, (2) love centered God perception, (3) definig God benefiting from oneself/ internal resources (4) defining God benefiting from social understandings and external resources. Fear-centered God perception was commonly observed among the persons defining God through benefiting from social understandings and external resources. The idea of being tested in the life was quite provalent among these people. Such an understanding can make the individual anxious and stressed, and prevent them benefiting from their life experiences. In this perceptive, people pschologically feel themselves as a sacrifice. In our interviews, we observed that the quality of believers’ faith to their Creator determines the quality of communication with themselves. The individuals, who believed that God has a conditional love, also love themselves conditionally. Indeed, the closer the individuals to themselves, the closer they are to the God
