Description
Résumé:This article intends to present the Rubem Alves’ concept of “heresy” as a political-religious concept relating it to his theory of religion. We seek to answer how this concept contains relevant ethical potentialities in contemporary times. Since the question of heresy lies not only at the religious level but also at the political level, it cannot be simply read as a movement of rupture with the established religion. Our hypothesis for this problem is that, unlike the traditional contrast between heresy and orthodoxy, Rubem Alves appropriates the concept of heresy by relating it to the idea of protest. Thus, against institutionalized religion, heresy approaches religion as the presence of absence. The course of this communication has four parts: 1) to analyze the concept of heresy in general; 2) present the concept of heresy in R. Alves; 3) understand how he is a constituent of religion in his thinking; 4) reflect on the ethical potentiality of heresy in contemporary times.
