Zusammenfassung:This article describes two dimensions of parental and family involvement in the process of transitioning the young adult with disabilities from the end of mandated schooling into vocational training, employment, or moving from the family home. Letting Go is a cognitive-behavioral model to establish readiness, and Letting God the spiritual, affective dimensions of the process. Both parents and professionals, whether secular or pastoral workers, are vital parts of the process of successful transitioning.
