Zusammenfassung:Persons with physical and/or developmental disabilities often find themselves wondering where to look for the support that they need. Moreover, they often find that their loneliness and isolation are far more painful than their disability itself. They are often seeking someone to “come alongside” them, assist them with procuring the resources they need and look more closely at the meaning of life and God's role in their journey. The paper discusses how Bridge Ministries for Disability Concerns, which serves the Puget Sound area, is one model of ministry devoted to doing this. A description of Bridge will be followed by a discussion of its foundation, core values, areas in which it has pioneered, its approach to specific services, as well as its evaluation as a model.
