The ability for people with an autistic syndrome condition to bypass non-verbal clues and avoid the physical burden of sharing emotions via the virtual world of the Internet has brought about genuine empowerment and a deeper understanding of self-worth. In this context theology needs to articulate with greater vigor and conviction that people living with autism are not alone in their need to rediscover the essential goodness of the body.
