Zusammenfassung:This contribution explores the didactical potential of Digital Humanities for academic education in Biblical Studies. Arguing from the perspective of undergraduate und graduate students, it is suggested that digital resources and tools can help foster student engagement and orientation towards exegetical expertise from the very beginning on. After an introduction which assesses the current role of digital resources in the didactics of Biblical Studies, the potentials are illustrated by drawing on ancient language education, textual criticism, Bible survey, and exegesis with digital corpus analysis. The authors conclude that the use of digital resources can at least partly compensate the growing lack of familiarity with the Bible and ancient languages among students and, likewise, enable them to partake in research-oriented and self-regulated learning much easier. Instead of being a bonus, the possibilities offered by digital tools need to become a basic part of teaching Biblical Studies.
