| 520 | |a Opresente estudo pretende mostrar como foi emergindo e se foi consolidado a consciência política cristã no período que antecedeu a grande viragemconstantiniana, isto é, durante o período emque essa consciênciamais foi posta à prova.Mais do que retomar a velha questão das relações Império-Igreja, pretende-se relevar, por um lado, os aspectos distintivos da cidadania cristã, tal como foi exposta na primeira apologética cristã, por outro, mostrar como, desde Paulo até Eusébio de Cesareia, se foi consolidando uma teologia políticamais emcontinuidade do que emruptura. Tal evolução marca a passagem da religião da cidade à religião da consciência ou do “homem cívico” ao “homem interior”, mas assinala também a transição do modelo paradoxal, marcado pela esperança escatológica, para o modelo providencialista da “igreja imperial” e do império teocêntrico. Desde então a salvaguarda do paradoxo (tensão escatológica) só será possível pela via da “fuga mundi”, tal como será reivindicada pelo monaquismo. | ||
| 520 | |a The present study wants to show how has emerged and consolidated the Christian political consciousness in the period before themajor Constantinian turning point, when that consciousness was tested mostly. Rather than returning to the old question of Empire-Church relationships, we intend to reveal, on one hand, the distinctive aspects of Christian citizenship, as it was expose in the first Christian apologetics, and on the other hand, to show how, from Paul to Eusebius of Cesareia, political theology has been being consolidated more in continuity than in rupture. This evolution points out the transition from the religion of the city to the religion of consciousness or from the «civic man» to the «inner man», but it also points out the transition fromthe paradoxicalmodel, signed by eschatological hope, to the providentialmodel of the «imperial Church» and of the theocentric empire. Since then the safeguarding of the paradox (eschatological tension) will only be possible through the «fuga mundi» way, as it will be claimed by monasticism. | ||
