Description
Résumé:Nietzsche is considered a figure of vital importance in criticizing a certain "inflation of meaning" found in Western thought, both in the philosophical tradition and in what concerns Christianity. This tyrannical character of meaning has strengthened his criticism which, in general, concludes that all meaning derives from the phenomenon, which is the subjective and interpretative representation of the world. Even though it was not Nietzsche's intention, his reflections gave rise to new parameters for the understanding of religion on a non-metaphysical basis. On the other hand, we have the writer Jorge Luis Borges, who seems to acquiesce to the Nietzschean critique of the asymmetry between world and language. The Argentine writer relativizes the direct relation between language and world, which places the limits of the metaphor in a place of significant importance. In addition to a creative approach between the German philosopher and the Borges, we highlight the Borges' perception of the reallocation of aged metaphysical contents to the fictional and creative universe of fantastic literature. In this sense, from the theories of language, dependent on the tradition that goes back to Nietzsche, this article proposes an understanding of religion from the text The Writing of God, written by Borges.
