'The second non-pareil pearl of food and drink’included in one of the earliest and most representative works of the Arab literary genre of adab, al- ́Iqd al-farīd(The Unique Necklace) of the Andalusian author Ibn ́Abd Rabbihi(860-940) is one of the earliest testimonies of Arab food and drinks. In terms of contentthis book focuses not only on the importance of having a good feeding but also includes a great number of news, poems and anecdotes that provide us with plenty information of the Islamic society on both sides of the Mediterranean. |
