Les récentes campagnes de fouilles ont mis au jour un édifice thermal à quelques mètres au sud du théâtre, dont l’étude architecturale a permis de mettre en évidence deux phases majeures de construction : la mise en place d’un édifice composé d’une salle froide et de quatre espaces chauffés puis la construction d’une grande salle longitudinale ayant bénéficié d’un programme décoratif particulier. La proximité des différentes constructions de ce site avec un lieu de culte est attestée par deux inscriptions. L’une commémore l’édification d’un temple et l’autre révèle que la fête du maïouma y était célébrée. La présence d’un édifice balnéaire au sein d’un complexe architectural à vocation visiblement religieuse invite à s’interroger sur l’utilisation des thermes situés à proximité de sanctuaires. En l’absence de synthèse sur ce thème, la présente étude vise à faire un premier état des lieux de nos connaissances. | ||
| 520 | |a Birketein, located north of Gerasa, has significant facilities, dated from the 2nd and 3rd cent. ad: a large open-air pool (birkeh), a theater, and tombs. Recent excavations have uncovered a thermal building, few meters south of the theater. Undertaken in 2006, the architectural study of the baths revealed two major phases of construction: the establishment of an archaeological set composed of a cold room and four heated spaces, followed by the construction of a large longitudinal room with a peculiar decorative program. The proximity of Birketein site’s constructions with a place of worship is attested by two inscriptions. The first commemorates the building of a temple and the second reveals that the maïouma feast was celebrated on this site. The presence of baths in an architectural complex that apparently has a religious vocation, raises questions about the use of thermal baths near shrines. As there is no synthesis on this question, this study aims to do a first inventory. | ||
| 520 | |a يقع موقع بركتين شمال مدينة جرش على منشآت تعود إلى القرن الثاني والثالث ميلادي وهي مؤلفة من: بركة واسعة في الهواء الطلق، مسرح، وكذلك قبور. ولقد تم إكتشاف حمامات على بعد بعض الامتار جنوبي المسرح من خلال حفريات حديثة. كشفت الدراسة الهندسية لهذا امع عام ٢٠٠٦ عن حقبتين أساسيتين للبناء. تتميز الحقبة الاولى بإنشاء مج ّ مع مؤلف من قاعة باردة ويمتد على أربع قاعات دافئة. يتبعه صالة كبيرة مستطيلة تتميز بزخرفات إستثنائية. وتقع هذه المباني قرب مكان للعبادة كما تبين إثنين من النقوش: واحدة منها تحيي ذكرى بناء معبد والثانية تفيد بأن عيد ”مايوما“ كان يتم الإحتفال به في هذا الموقع. وجود حمامات داخل مج ّ مع ديني يثير التساؤلات عن كيفية إستخدام الحمامات الواقعة قرب المعابد. فيما لم يتم طرح هذه التساؤلات من قبل تهدف هذه الدراسة إلى إجراء تقييم أولي لتوضيح هذا الموضوع. | ||
