The study of these objects and their decoration shows that they played a role in the cult of the sacred falcons, whether living or dead. One of these chests displaying hieroglyphic inscriptions identifies the falcon with the god “Haroeris lord of Letopolis”, who was worshipped in the city of Edfa near Akhmim during the Roman Period | ||
