Arguing that the marital state is crucial to one's position in the Catholic Church, we hypothesized that married Catholics would have the highest scores on both integration and well-being, those whose marriages were annulled would be next, and the divorced would have the lowest. Questionnaires containing measures of overall Integration, General Well-Being, and Physical Well-Being were analyzed. Results strongly supported the predictions. It is concluded that the marital state is highly important to the position of the Catholic and their general well-being is dependent upon that status.
