Ces performances témoignaient d'une volonté de soutenir la révolution mais celle-ci était, dans le même temps, décrite comme le résultat des prières de fidèles. L'article montre ainsi la profonde ambivalence de la participation des charismatiques qui semblaient voir dans les événements qui secouaient leur pays un signe de la venue prochaine du Christ. Ces chrétiens partageaient pourtant une grande part des aspirations au changement de leurs concitoyens de religion musulmane. | ||

The Qasr al-Dûbbâra Evangelical Church, the Bible Society, and Father Sam'ân's Church in Muqattam organized intercessory prayers for Egypt. Those performances showed a will to support the Revolution that was perceived as a result of the faithful's prayers. There was a deep ambivalence in the Charismatics' participation, for they seemed to perceive the events shaking the country as a sign of the imminent return of Jesus Christ, but at the same time shared the hopes for change of their fellow citizens who were Muslims. | ||
