Résumé: | Based on examples in Palestine and Chechnya, this article questions the feminine practices of "martyrdom" in the contemporary international scene. Gender is being revealed as an extra element for the analysis of situations in which the economic, political and partially religious factors are still central and connected. The appearance of a culture of death is destabilizing the analysis commonly admitted and leads to approach these new social facts through a theory of action. (Maghreb-Machrek/GIGA) |
