A comparison with Zosimus of Panopolis and the magical papyri shows that the seven vowels symbolize the seven planetary spheres, while the omegas simultaneously represent Saturn and the 36 Decans, Egyptian astral deities separating the cosmos from the Ogdoad. -- These parallels demonstrate that the same group was behind the production of the magical papyri in question and the Discourse on the Eighth and the Ninth, namely Egyptian priests. | ||
