Beschreibung
Zusammenfassung:Based on fieldwork among Aladura ('praying') churches of Nigeria, the author traces the variations in religious beliefs and organisational practices associated with menstruation by comparing three Aladura denominations and the motivation of Aladura women for complying with the ritual constraints surrounding menstruation. The perceived and actual roles of the women in Aladura church history and their positions in the power structure of their respective churches are also scrutinized. (DÜI-Sen)
