| Zusammenfassung: | The study and application of mindfulness-based interventions in the fields of medicine and behavioural health have continued to grow over the past 45 years. The ease with which this Eastern contemplative practice, rooted in Buddhism, has been integrated into the fields of medicine and behavioural health, which are grounded in Western science, is examined. It is suggested that ignoring the Buddhist context of mindfulness meditation, may result in a less than complete representation of this sacred practice and its intended outcomes. L'étude et l'application des interventions fondées sur la pleine conscience en médecine et en santé comportementale connaissent un essor soutenu depuis les 45 dernières années. La présente étude se penche sur la façon dont cette pratique contemplative orientale, enracinée dans le bouddhisme, est intégrée en médecine et en santé comportementale, domaines fondés sur la science occidentale. Ignorer le contexte bouddhiste de la méditation de pleine conscience pourrait mener à une représentation incomplète de cette pratique sacrée et de ses bienfaits. |
