| Zusammenfassung: | Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) is a chronic mental illness affecting 2%-3% of the population worldwide. Scrupulosity (an OCD dimension) is centered on religious and/or moral intrusive thoughts followed by repetitive actions and frequently restrains functioning. Secondary data was analyzed for this study. Our findings suggest that non-Catholic Christians and Muslims may be more likely to endorse scrupulosity compared to other religious individuals. Individuals with scrupulosity have higher levels of OCD severity and disability overall. Future studies should address the increased level of severity and disability for individuals with scrupulosity. |
