| Zusammenfassung: | Este artigo apresenta o horizonte dos Estudos da Religião no pensamento ocidental e as suas possibilidades e pertinências nos tempos contemporâneos. As Ciências da Religião têm o papel de esclarecer a diversidade das expressões religiosas e também apontar caminhos para os limites e as possibilidades da convivência política inclusiva numa esfera pública solidária e multicultural. A importância da área do conhecimento e do seu papel na educação escolar é desenvolvido na parte final do artigo. This article presents the horizon of Religious Studies in Western thought and calls attention to its contemporary possibilities and relevance. The article argues that it is the role of Religious Studies both to clarify the diversity of religious expressions and to point out the limits and possibilities of an inclusive political coexistence in a unified and multicultural public sphere. The second part of the article deals with the relevance of this field of knowledge for Religious Education. |
