Description
Résumé:The FIS (Front Islamique du Salut) is usually regarded as a revolutionary challenge to the Algerian state. The article gives an analysis of the FIS and shows that this perception of the FIS is wrong. The FIS does not follow any economic program that would oppose the government's reform program (in fact a cohesive economic program does not exist) and politically the FIS has been willing to cooperate with the government and vice versa.
