He obtained his B.A. in Chinese Language and Literature from Peking University, China, and his M.A. and Ph.D. in Chinese Studies from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. In the past few years, Dr. Hue was embarking on a field research project entitled “Mapping Religious Sites of Singapore” under the direction of Professor Kenneth Dean, McGill University, Canada. As part of this project, they performed a survey of more than 800 Chinese Temples and Clan Associations in Singapore. Dr. Hue's research interests include the Philosophy of Buddhism, Chinese folk religion, Singapore Chinese temples, Chinese Culture, and the Chinese in Singapore and Malaysian - Hue Guan Thye ist ein Spezialist für traditionelle chinesische Religion in Singapur. Er erwarb seinen BA in Chinesischer Sprache und Literatur an der Peking University, China, und seinen MA und PhD in Chinesischen Studien an der Nanyang Technological University, Singapur. In den letzten Jahren hat Dr. Hue unter der Leitung von Prof. Kenneth Dean, McGill University, Kanada, ein Feldforschungsprojekt mit dem Titel "Mapping Religious Sites of Singapore" gestartet.
